Anna Leigh Ashford
Annaleigh Amanda Ashford (born April 14th 1988) was an American performer, actor and dancer. Her initial performances on Broadway include the musicals Wicked Legally Blonde and Hair. The actress was awarded an award from the Tony Award for Best Featured actress in a Play in the role of Essie Carmichael in You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh Ashford, a Tony Award-winning actor and director, has spent the majority of her career working alongside prominent directors and actors on stage and screen. Ashford is scheduled to be starring alongside Kumail Nanjiani on Robert Siegel's Hulu exclusive Welcome to Chippendales. It debuts on the 22nd November. Ashford currently works on Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust alongside Sarah Paulson, Ebon Moss Bachrach and Ebon Mosch Bachrach. The film will be released in the form of an Hulu Original on Disney DTC. Ashford, who will appear as Josh Groban on Broadway's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre during the march 2023 revival of Stephen Sondheims Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail as director and Jeffrey Seller as producer will be the creative team for the show. Ashford's most recent role was as Paula Jones on Ryan Murphy FX's American Crime Story Impeachment. The show is based on the nationwide scandal that involved Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky, as well as Linda Tripp. For two seasons, she was a star of the hit show on CBS called B Positive. It was developed by Marco Pennette, Chuck Lorre and Linda Lavin. Also, it featured Ben Vereen and Hector Elizondo. Sunday in the Park with George Wicked legally blonde and the original role of Lauren In Kinky Boots were among her other Broadway credits. Ashford was born and raised in Denver and is now dividing the time in Los Angeles, and New York.
